The central universities common entrance test (cucet) for undergraduate admission will not be implemented from the 2021-2022 academic session, the UGC announced on Sunday.

The Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) for undergraduate admission will not be implemented from the 2021-2022 academic session due to the coronavirus pandemic, the University Grants Commission (UGC) announced on Sunday.
- The ministry of education previously announced that admission to universities would be based on a common entrance exam.
“In view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, the process of admission to central universities during the 2021-22 academic session may continue based on past practices. The Entrance Test to Common Central Universities (CUCET) can be implemented from the 2022-23 academic session, “
UGC tweeted.
- The Union Ministry of Education had set up a committee to analyze the modalities of admission of CUCET to all undergraduate courses in central universities, as suggested in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 .
