CLAT 2023 Exam Analysis: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU) held the Common Law Admissions Test on 18th December (Sunday from) 2-4 p.m. The test was conducted at 127 test centers in 23 states and 2 union territories across the country, with 93.6% of students taking the UG test and 91.7% taking the PG exam.

The CLAT is the national entrance examination for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 22 national law universities in India. The Supreme Court recently ordered the NLU Consortium to ensure that no disabled applicants are denied access to CLAT and that all necessary facilities are provided.

According to data published by the NLU Consortium, 93.6% of the candidates registered for the 2023 CLAT undergraduate test and 91.7% of the candidates registered for the 2023 CLAT postgraduate test passed the test. .

CLAT 2023 Exam Analysis: Quantitative Aptitude

It took a long time and had all kinds of questions from easy to moderate to difficult. There were a total of 3 series with 15 questions in total. The section was tough.

CLAT 2023 Exam Analysis: Logical Reasoning

There were a total of 30 questions based on 5 passages. The questions were more “conceptual” than “contextual”. Although lengthy, the questions were fairly straightforward and mostly revolved around critical thinking. Overall though, this section was easy to moderate and doable.

CLAT 2023 Exam Analysis: Legal Reasoning

There were a total of eight passages, all of which dealt with important laws and final judgments. These passages were based on current affairs mainly covering topics such as tort law, contract law, Indian penal code and related concepts. This section was “easy to moderate”. All the passages were based on some of the fundamental concepts of law. A 34-37 attempt is considered adequate/good for the section and a good score could be around 32-33.

CLAT 2023 Exam Analysis: General Knowledge

There were a total of 35 questions based on seven passages. General student comments were “strange and unexpected”, the general knowledge section was not as expected. The questions were not direct except for the presidential election, others were on a variety of topics like FIFA, the growth of the agricultural sector, FTX, etc. Overall, the section was subdued. Trying a total of 20-21 questions is a good try and a good score might be around 15-16.

CLAT 2023 Exam Analysis: Reading Comprehension

There were 30 questions in the English section based on six passages, most of which were simple but some of which were a bit difficult. The questions were simple and contextual. Most of the RC questions focused on the tone of the passage, the inferences, the central idea, etc. The rest of the questions were about idioms, phrases and grammatical concepts. Overall English was long, a bit tricky compared to last year, but doable and easy to moderate. I try 25-27 a good try and a good score can be around 20-21.

CLAT 2023 Exam Analysis: Long Article but moderate in general

The logical part was long but moderate and had many conceptual issues. Likewise, the English was long but also moderate, with many vocabulary questions. The math was hard. And the general culture was moderate, there were some hit or miss topics. Legal was slightly long to moderate. Overall it was long but moderate.

The Consortium of National Law Universities announced on Monday that the 2024 Common Law Admissions Test (CLAT) will take place in December 2023.
