The NLU Consortium successfully conducted the 2022 Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) on June 19. The draft answer key and main document were published on June 20 in the morning. Candidates can check the answer key on the official website: consortiumofnluc.ac.in
CLAT 2022: According to the experts, the overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate as long as the candidates have good time management skills and enough attention is paid to all the questions considering the length of the exam.
True to its style, this year again the CLAT had 30 questions in English, 35 questions on current affairs and general culture, 40 questions on legal reasoning, 30 questions on logical reasoning and 15 questions on quantitative techniques. Thus, legal had a maximum weight and, of course, quant had a lower weight.
In actual there were hardly any surprises overall. However, the length of the passages varied considerably from section to section and question to question, giving a slight relaxation in the form of smaller passages in sections such as legal reasoning while being offset by longer passages, some exceeding 600 words, in the English section.
Starting with the legal section that was easy to moderate, CLAT strayed a bit from its love of sections like civil liability and criminal law, but the Constitution was given its place in three questions and international law and family law were a pleasure to watch. Concepts such as monism and dualism, which are usually LLM level subjects, were seen and, as always, the contract had its place in a question further explained.
According to the experts, the overall level of difficulty of the exam was moderate as long as the candidates have good time management skills and enough attention is paid to all the questions considering the length of the exam.
