• Unaffiliated Private Schools: These institutions can choose to recognize and accept CTET certification for teacher recruitment.
• State Government Schools: Schools managed or funded by State Governments or local bodies primarily rely on their own Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). However, states have the option to recognize CTET as an equivalent qualification.
• CBSE-Affiliated Schools: As per the CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, teachers appointed after March 6, 2012, to teach classes I to VIII must qualify for CTET or the respective State-conducted TET, in line with guidelines from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Lifetime Validity of the CTET Certificate

Candidates who successfully pass the CTET exam receive an eligibility certificate, which now holds lifetime validity. This significant revision from the earlier seven-year validity period allows qualified teachers to apply for teaching positions in schools nationwide without any time constraint.
