IGNOU Reextends Deadline for Fresh Admissions and Re-Registrations for January 2025 Session

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced an extension for the fresh admissions and re-registrations for the January 2025 session. Initially set to close on February 28, the deadline has now been extended to March 15, 2025. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online via the official IGNOU admission portal at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

Extension Applicable for ODL and Online Programmes

This extension applies to all notified programmes offered in both Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online modes, except for certificate programmes. This marks the third time IGNOU has extended the deadline for these admissions, providing additional time for students to complete their enrollment process.

A recent post on the microblogging platform X confirmed the extension:

“Last date for Jan 2025 Fresh Admission extended till 15th March 2025 in respect of all notified programmes offered in ODL and Online mode (except for Certificate programmes). The last date of Jan 2025 Re-registration has also been extended till 15th March 2025.”

Important Guidelines for Applicants

1. Application Cancellation: Candidates who wish to cancel their application can do so directly through the registration portal. Requests for cancellation should not be submitted via email or iGRAM.
2. Refund Policy: Once an application is canceled, it cannot be reinstated. Any refunds will be processed as per IGNOU’s policies.
3. Official Updates: Candidates are advised to check the official IGNOU website for the latest updates and detailed admission guidelines.

With the extended deadline, interested candidates now have more time to apply and secure their admission for the January 2025 session. Prospective students should complete the application process before March 15, 2025, to avoid last-minute issues.
