In a major spike in -19 cases, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reported that a total of 16,365 individuals have now been confirmed positive in the country. On Saturday till 9 p.m., 2,154 persons (the highest in a single day) were found positive for SARS-CoV-2. 

  • Chief Secretary Vijay Dev directed the divisional commissioner and the health secretary to ensure that non COVID-19 patients receive seamless treatment and are not ignored by healthcare service providers, an official said. He also instructed them to evacuate all non-COVID-19 patients from COVID-19 dedicated hospitals by April 19.
